Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies (HALS) has been based at County Hall in Hertford since 1939 and is an Accredited county record office.  Its earliest document dates from 1060AD and is particularly strong on holdings from the various landed estates such as Knebworth, Delme-Radcliffe and the vast Panshanger estate collection all of which have been funded by the FNL over the years. Other key collections include the records Ebenezer Howard, founder of the Garden City Movement and also Addis Limited and the Commission of New Towns.

The visit will include a document display and tour of the building including conservation studio.
